1. Getting Started:  Read the information pertaining to your course level. 

H-Level:
 

Textbook Purchase -  title is PHYSICS, Principles and Problems (Publisher Glencoe / McGraw-Hill).  This is currently available through the Government Loan textbook loan program. Your teacher will hand out textbooks when school begins.

Workbook - title is PHYSICS, Problem Solving and Activities.

Journal Notebook - This is your Physics Journal* .

* "In an effort to standardize the notebook used for the honors physics journal, it is required that all honors physics students have a MEAD Five Star spiral three subject notebook with a plastic cover, 150 sheets of paper and two or more pocket folder dividers. Note this journal is the only item that is allowed to be used during open notes evaluations."

A-Level:

2. General Rules of Conduct in the physics lab.

1. Students are expected to be on time to their class. If they are late, they have to produce a properly filled out pass, signed by a teacher or administrator. If such a pass does not exist, they are expected to submit their current student ID in place of a pass.
2. Students are expected to be at their assigned place when class begins.
3. Students are expected to bring the required materials - textbook, workbook, notebook, and calculator to class.
4. Students are expected to keep all food and beverages out of the classroom / lab. This includes water bottles unless there is a note approved by the administration temporarily exempting the student from this rule.
5. Students are expected to keep backpacks and book bags out of the lab. See the letter to the student and parent regarding the details of this rule.
6. Students are expected to keep all forms of electronic communication, entertainment and storage devices out of the classroom and the lab. Calculators being played with during class will be classified as electronic entertainment devices.
7. Students are expected to use the computers in the lab for physics assignments only and not for personal use.
8. Students are expected to follow all copyright rules and regulations as defined by law.
9. Students are expected to use all lab equipment safely.
10. Students are expected to follow all school rules.
11. Students are expected to follow the "Marian Catholic High School Honor Code".
12. Students are expected to help maintain the health and safety environment of the classroom and lab, by not taking it upon themselves to change the environment in any way without the expressed permission of the instructor. This includes using a range of electrical devices and other equipment, as well as opening blinds and windows. Students need to stop and think before they act.
13. Students are expected to be attentive and focussed during class and to listen to all announcements that come over the P.A. system. This includes showing respect during the prayer and the pledge.
14. Students are expected to show respect and courtesy towards fellow students, teachers, administrators and guests.
